I've made this so many times I'm surprised that it wasn't already on the blog. Here 'tis.
12 oz cranberries
1 c orange juice
1 c sugar
Dissolve sugar in orange juice over medium heat. Stir in cranberries and cook until they pop (10 minutes or so). Remove from heat to serving bowl. Sauce will thicken as it cools.

Food Storage Stroganoff
1 can roast beef (Costco)
2 beef-cans-full of water
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/4 c brown gravy mix
1 can evaporated milk
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
salt & pepper to taste
egg noodles (maybe 4 cups?)
Just bring to a boil then add noodles & cook on med until done. So easy.
I tried this today and all the kids liked it. Devin & I liked it too but it was too salty. I did not add the milk, except to try it out in a couple individual portions. Devin liked it better with milk, but maybe just because it toned down the salt. I thought it was fine either way but couldn't help thinking it was cheaper without the milk. Devin also thought it was a little heavy on the beef - like we could use just half the can and save the rest for something else. I thought it was ok, but would also be fine with less beef. Next time I'll try adding the milk (and less salt), but I probably won't start with the whole can.
Overall: Success!

Potato Corn Chowder
original recipe ~ allrecipes.com
I just made this for the first time and we really liked it. It's less like corn chowder and more like a good potato soup. I'm writing it here with some changes for next time.
5 potatoes, peeled & cubed
1 onion, chopped
2 c diced ham
3 stalks celery, chopped (I didn't have any this time but I'm sure it's good with it)
1 lb frozen corn
2 Tbs butter
2 Tbs chicken bouillon
salt & pepper to taste
1 can evaporated milk
Combine all but milk in slow cooker and add water to cover. Cook on low 8-9 hours. Stir in milk and cook 30 mins more.
